Who can come to Day Camp?

Camp Belzer hosts nearly 3000 kids each summer, and we do not reach those insane numbers by turning people away. In a sense, if you want to attend Camp Belzer we welcome you to attend. There are several various registration categories you should be aware of to maximize your day camp experience

For starters, understand that Camp is very affordable, but is not free. Each registrant type has a different cost associated with it based on how many program resources are being committed. Luckily, if you are a parent or volunteer attending for the day, we do not charge you a base cost to be in camp, we just appreciate you coming out and seeing what your boys and girls are doing from day to day. The only fees we charge parents relate to the utilization of supplies like lunches and crafts.

Registrant Types

The largest percentage of kids at our Camp are Cub Scouts. Cub Scouts are ages 6-8 years old and come to camp in packs. To come to camp as a Cub Scout, your son must be registered with the BSA and pay the camp fee of $170. If your boys sign up early, they can receive a $25 discount bringing the price of the week down to only $145 for the full week at camp.
Belzer offers a great program for Webelos. Webelos are ages 8-11 years old and come to camp in packs with Cub Scouts. To come to camp as a Webelos, your son must be registered with the BSA and pay the camp fee of $170. If your boys sign up early, they can receive a $25 discount bringing the price of the week down to only $145 for the full week at camp. Belzer offers 2 different Webelos' programs depending on what year they are in Scouting. The Webelos' groups are split from the Cub Packs upon arrival at camp.
Tag-a-longs are non-Scouts who are attending camp throughout the week with the pack. Tag-a-longs are ages 6+ and can be sisters, friends, cousins, ect. in relation to the Cub Scout. They are not required to have a parent with them in camp; however, they are counted as a part of the 10-1 BSA leadership requirement. They can ONLY be registered at camp for $35 per day they attend.
Restricted Tag-a-longs are younger children accompanying their parent/guardian while at camp. They are not permitted to participate in many activities around camp including BBs, archery, and rafting. Restricted Tag-a-longs are 5 years old and under and cost $15 a day. They must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.
Our Baden Powell and Dan Beard programs offer an opportunity to Boy Scouts to attend camp and work on either Merit Badges or rank requirements. Boys attending this program signup as individuals and do not have troop leadership present in camp. The program costs $TBA and a $25 discount is available to those who signup by May 1st.
Belzer offers a great community program in the month of July. This option is open to individuals who are neither Scouts and/or unable to attend with a pack. Sign your kids up as individuals for $205 ($190 if they are a Scout) and they will have an experience of a lifetime!
Belzer is all about the family, which is why we want as many parents/guardians to attend camp as possible. We do not charge any registration cost for individuals 18 years and older because we are simply happy to have you with us! Remember, the BSA requires a 2-Deep leadership ratio for packs who attend camp.
